the Author and Illustrator
David M. Beadle's
creative background and concern for environmental issues culminated
in the creation of The Day the Trash Came Out to Play. As
a musician he performed and mixed music during the burgeoning
London electronic dance scene. Around the same time he performed
with the Hip Hop band Soho and saw success with a No. 3 Billboard
hit.
On coming to the USA in the early
1990's David wrote music for the Sid and Marty Krofft's video
series I wish I were..... and the Family Channel's Okee and
Dokee show as well as scoring music for the full length feature
film Meet the Mosaics.
More recently a recipient of
nine Emmy nominations for sound work on television shows including
NYPD Blue, In Search of Dr. Suess, Chicago Hope, mini-series
The Diary of Anne Frank, and Steven Spielberg's cable mini-series
Taken, David has won Golden Reel Awards for Best Sound on
HBO's Six Feet Under and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge starring
Halle Berry. David has always been concerned with environmental
issues. With the publication of The Day The Trash Came Out
to Play, David looks to a new way of broadcasting environmental
education to our youngest citizens.
David, his wife Debra and two
children live in the tidy town of South Pasadena, California.
Indiana Artist Laurie A. Faust loves
the rewards of seeing her characters spring to life from
the pages of the children's books she illustrates. An aspiring
artist since the age of ten, the "Hoosier State"
native now runs her own home-based design business, Laurie
Faust Designs, in the small town of Noblesville. Her colorful
murals, special event design and graphics have been on display
for projects conceived for Purdue University, the Indianapolis
Zoo, and Indianapolis Museum of Art, as well as numerous
local businesses and private residences.
Combining family togetherness and a rich
professional life in the midst of picturesque surroundings
away from the busyness of the big city suits the Faust clan
--- Mom, Dad, four children and two cats --- just fine.
Old-fashioned parades and natural surroundings sustain their
childlike appreciation for the wonders of life, and Laurie's
children share her passion for creative expression, especially
delighting in the finished books she collaborates on. The
Day The Trash Came Out to Play is Laurie's second children's
book.
